The Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities was founded in April 1991.
Main purposes:
1. Revival and consolidation of the national and cultural Jewish solidarity in the Republic of Belarus;
2. Protection of the honor and national dignity of the union’s public association members;
3. Charity.
Main objectives:
- to coordinate the efforts of the organizations and citizens in the field of Jewish education;
- to support the members of public associations and members of their families in studying national, spiritual and cultural values of Jewish community;
- to represent the interests of the Jewish public organizations in the bodies of state power and administration;
- to establish the direct relations with the public organizations of the State of Israel and other countries;
- to cooperate with the Jewish organizations of other countries on the issues of cultural and scientific exchange, study of national traditions, etc.;
- to assist in the creation of new Jewish public organizations in the Republic of Belarus.

The Union cooperates with the state and public organizations of the Republic of Belarus. The Union is a member of the Coordinating Council for the Rights of National Minorities under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, and is also a member of the Republican Center for National Cultures.
