Official opening of the Holocaust memorials

The Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities held the official opening of the memorials to the Holocaust victims in Bychov on July 29 and in Svisloch on July 30.

Memorials were errected by the Union of Belarusian Jewish Communities with the support of the Simon Mark Lazarus Foundation and the Miles and Marilyn Kletter Foundation.

The ceremonies were attended by the representatives of the local administration, Jewish organizations of Mogilev, Grodno and Minsk, guests from the United Kingdom and the United States that support the realization of the memorial project, as well as by residents of the cities.

The Union of Belarusian Jewish Communities expresses gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the German Federal Republic to the Republic of Belarus Peter DETTMAR for his participation and words. We also want to thank the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Grodno Jarosław KSIĄŻEK, who also attended the ceremony.
